There are cases, when product that just have been bought, shows some serious defect. WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
1. You need to appeal to point-of-sale, where the product has been purchased. The solid enterprise will try to solve the problems in a peaceful way. In accordance with The Law of Consumer Rights Protection you have a right to use one of these services: repair, exchange or return of product, return of money.
2. If your claims were denied, you need to address the enterprise with written request. Don't forget to attach the check copy and guarantee (if such is present). Prepare the application in two copies, make sure that the representative of the enterprise signed the copy in confirmation of acception/declination of your application and the date. The enterprise have to give you an answer in 10 days.
3. Keep all сhecks no less than for 2 years, it is a term during which you can file the application. Amount of documents which can be filed in 2 years period about the the same product is unlimited: they must be filed each time as defects appear.
4. If a vendor doesn't answer to you, or you are discontent with his answer, apply to The Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC) (Kr. Valdemāra 157, LV-1013, 67212688).
Complaint About the Foodstuff
1. Buying foodstuff, don't forget to take a check.
2. If the date of purchased product use isn't valid or it product of bad quality, you need to file the application as quickly as it is possible: it might will be necessary to check up all products in the shop.
3. You need to address the vendor, and appeal to The Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC) as well.
4. If it is established that the product is off-grade, you have a right to demand your money back.
5. If a foodstuff harmed your health, you have a right to demand the indemnification of harm (certificate of the doctor is needed).
Order of Filing an Application
1. The vendor have to give you a written answer about his decision during 10 days from the moment when application is received. If vendor decides to satisfy your demand without an examination – he must to do it in term of 7 days. If the examination is required, the term can be extended. The vendor is also obliged to inform you about the date, time and order of product receiving .
2. If your application is denied, apply to The Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC).
The Application must contain:
1. the description of the found defect;
2. your name;
3. the date;
4. the mark about the attached documents;
5. information about the accessibility of the product, if it is set in your house;
6. copy of the check or other certifying document;
7. copy of guarantee, if such exists.
